 The swimming pool  The hotel viewed from the beach | We chose Le Rêve for a lot of reasons. This boutique hotel is small (25 rooms only), enabling us to have a private event ; secluded and far from the touristical areas. It has a magnificent beach. The reviews on tripadvisors were great. Adn they were much more flexible than the other hotels and resorts of the area. "Le Reve offers vacationers, dreamers and romantics an unimaginable paradise where they escape into a peaceful and harmonious setting. Stylish rooms receive accolades for their design and comfort, especially the beds! Le Reve's restaurant serves such scrumptious courses that guests never want to leave and presents them so elegantly you hesitate to eat them. With a pristine location on a tranquil beach, guests enjoy walks on white sand with views of the turquoise Caribbean waters." You get the picture. |
As stated above, Le Rêve is secluded and a bit isolated from Playa del Carmen. Be prepared for some peace and quiet, after 20 minutes of a very bumpy ride... actually, there are two roads to get to Le Rêve. The original one is like an adventure in the jungle - you never know if you're on the right way or if you're going to get there eventually. This dirt road is a 20 minute drive and makes Playa del Carmen 30 minutes away... if you like the feeling of being at the end of the world, riding this road is worth it ! The other road is a pretty normal road. You have to get on the dirt road only in the last 2 minutes. The program at Le Rêve :
- welcome drinks on Friday, May 1st. We wait for you starting 10pm, after dinner, or after you check in !
- the Big Day on Saturday, May 2nd. The ceremony will start around 4pm, followed by reception, dinner and party.
- Mexican buffet for lunch on Sunday, May 3rd
The restaurant is a bit expensive (like a nice restaurant in Houston).
To eat outside of Le Rêve, there are less expensive options nearby. The
bar and restaurant of Le Petit Laffite is 5 minute walk away, turning left on the beach when you get out of Le Rêve.
10 minutes away from Le Rêve in the same direction is the
Thai Beach Club, a beach club from the Princess complex, open to the
public. They have 100 pesos (8 USD) burger, BLTs and salads. Playa del

The hotel does not accept kids under 16 years old, but they are of course welcome for the wedding day. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults per room.
We blocked the rooms for the nights of May 1st and May 2nd ; you should try and get your room by the 1st of March at the latest. Prices include breakfast, but do not include the negotiated discount, service and taxes. The discounts we negotiated are :
- 10% for stays of 2 or 3 days,
- 15% for stays of 4 days,
- 20% for stays of 5 days or more.
Service is 10% and taxes, 12%.
The hotel has a gym and a spa. If you wish to stay at Le Rêve more than the 2 nights of the wedding, be aware that we only blocked the rooms for May 1 and 2 ! So the earlier you make your reservation for days other than these, the better.
If you wish to spend a bit of time with us before or after the wedding, note that we will be arriving at Le Rêve on Tuesday, April 28 in the evening and leaving on Tuesday, May 5. We will be honeymooning in another resort, still in the area, until Sunday, May 11.

4 types of rooms are available. All the rooms have air conditionning, a safe, a mini-bar, a hair-dryer, phone, and environmental friendly amenities. There is no TV in the rooms.

Garden Suites (7 Suites)
| These suites are on the first floor, are equipped with a queen size bed
and have private little garden. The price before discount, service and
taxes is 209$ starting May 1st (i.e. for the wedding), and 305$ in
April.

Horizon Suites (11 Suites)
These suites are on the second floor, have a queen size bed and a private balcony with furniture for two. They have a beautiful view and we recommend them. The price is 249$ per night starting May 1st (345$ in April).

Master Suites (2 Suites)
Located on the last floor, those suites have a king size bed, a gigantic terrace where you can even hold private events and a magnificent view. They also have an ocean-view shower.

Unfortunately one of these is occupied (by us !). The other one is unavailable on Fridat 1st, meaning that you could not move in until the Saturday, May 2 (day of the wedding) if you are interested. Note that we will not start until the afternoon. |

Bungalows (5 Bungalows)
The bungalows are equipped with a king size bed, and have a private pool and ocean-view deck. Their price is 349$ per night starting May 1st (425$ in April).

The activities you will find near the hotel :
- the beach. Note that there is a coral reef on the beach and you will need water shoes to go in it. Mind the jet-skis ! They can go quick and close to the shore. 10 minutes away to the left you can find a "pool" in the middle of the reef, however, there are a lot of people there (it's in front of the Princess).
A few guys offer the same type of activities. One of them is five minutes away, just after the Tides. Another one is 10 minutes away, just before the princess. The last one, that offer the most complete package of activities, is just after the Princess.
- jet ski - Count 45$ for 30 minutes. At first they will tell you 60$, or even 70$. The market price is 50$ but you can go under if you tell them those guys further away make it cheaper. For this, take USD. It will avoid losing on the exchange rate ;)
- snorkelling. The last shop on the beach offers regular snorkelling trips ; count 1H30. They will take you to corals. The trips are 35$ per person and depart at 11am and 3pm daily.
- parasailing. Be careful who you go with, you want some well maintained equipment. But it's so much fun ! Count 110$ for a tour for two.
- deep-sea fishing. Those guys can all take you fishing.
